The jasmine nightshade is a frost-sensitive plant that must be protected from severe cold (hardiness: -6°C). A vine with twining stems that naturally wind around a support (+6m high at maturity). Native to South America, the solanum is part of the Solanaceae family, just like the potato, tomato, goji berry, and eggplant.

The inflorescence of the jasmine nightshade consists of numerous clusters of small star-shaped flowers. Its long summer bloom lasts until early autumn. Its sublime flowers are sky-blue, tending toward a light lavender mauve. They are brightened by a heart of yellow stamens. Its flowering is followed by decorative fruit, small, toxic, bluish-black berries.

This climbing blue solanum is a very vigorous variety with rapid growth. It is very effective for covering various large supports such as a pergola or trellis. Once well established, the jasmine nightshade can reach more than 6 meters in height and 3 meters in width. The solanum is a perfect climbing plant for creating a shaded corner in the garden or hiding an overlooked area.

Solanum jasminoides thrives in the south of France; it is, in fact, a staple of Mediterranean gardens. Its pointed, shiny green foliage is evergreen in mild climates. This robust vine is frost-resistant down to -6°C. In colder regions, it is preferable to grow the blue solanum jasminoides in a pot or use it as an annual plant.

2. Place the plant in it at a slight angle. The goal is for it to grow in the direction of the support it needs to climb (wall, arbor, trellis, etc.).
3. Fill back in with a mixture of removed soil, potting soil, and fertilizer. Water.
