'Malling Promise' Summer-Bearing Raspberry - Rubus Idaeus / 3 L Pot
Generous summer harvest from June to July. This raspberry bush produces large, round, firm red fruits. The raspberries are slightly pointed with tender, fragrant flesh. Stems are reasonably thorny.
This cultivar is highly productive and very resistant to diseases. A shrub-like raspberry plant (up to 1.5m), it can be grown in pots or in the ground in all regions of France.
The raspberry belongs to the Rosaceae family, just like blackberries, strawberries, and mulberries. The rubus idaeus is nicknamed the bramble of Mount Ida. The red raspberry 'Malling Promise' is a non-everbearing cultivar, meaning it produces fruit in the summer. It does not fruit a second time before the first autumn frosts.
Its melliferous flowering of small white blossoms appears between April and May. It is a fruit-bearing shrub very popular with pollinators. This raspberry is an early-ripening variety. It offers an abundant and tasty harvest from June to July. It produces large, fragrant fruits. Their flesh is melt-in-the-mouth and juicy.
The raspberries of the Malling Promise variety have a tangy and subtly sweet taste. Its fruits can be eaten as soon as they are picked or can be cooked. Its raspberries are delicious in jams or tarts.
The raspberry bush idaeus Malling Promise has excellent adaptability; it grows without issues in regions with a mountain climate. It also performs very well in pots. This raspberry plant is very hardy, resisting sub-zero temperatures down to -20°C.
