Its large, ten-gram raspberries are very fragrant. An early and highly productive variety, its fruits have tender flesh and a sweet taste. Summer harvest: in June and July. Green, toothed, and deciduous leaves; canes with few thorns. A vigorous and hardy fruit plant: it shows very good resistance to cold.
Originating from Canada, the 'Tulameen' raspberry (Rubus idaeus) is a very hardy variety (-25°C) and productive. Its high yield makes it one of the most widely grown varieties by nurseries in Quebec and globally. The 'Tulameen' raspberry is therefore very attractive for its ease of cultivation and its productivity.
Its fruiting is early and non-everbearing: meaning it produces all of its fruit between the month of June and the month of July. The Tulameen raspberry plant provides a generous harvest of large-caliber fruit (approximately 10-15 grams). Their sweet and fragrant taste is subtly balanced. Its round raspberries are bright red and store quite well. They can be enjoyed fresh, right after harvest, or cooked. The 'Tulameen' raspberry is delicious in jams, coulis, jellies, tarts, or cakes.
This non-everbearing raspberry plant thrives in moist, sandy, and acidic soils. Its shrubby and climbing habit can reach up to 1.5 m when trellised on wires or cables. This Rubus idaeus is perfectly suited for cultivation in pots for balconies or terraces. Its small white flowers are honey-producing and nectar-rich: they attract bees and butterflies.
