A YAKINIKU® Shichirin is a traditional Japanese Konro table grill, also known as a Konro grill.
The LARGE is the big brother of the MEDIUM Shichirin, so the grill surface is 40% larger. It is ideal for professional use or for a group of 8 people. Grilling on a Shichirin is not just grilling. It is a completely different discipline. More refined, more elegant, and smaller. On this rectangular Shichirin, you can prepare small pieces of meat, fish, and vegetables with great precision.
With the Shichirin, you can prepare a delicious evening program, where all guests can enjoy a gourmet summer. But a Shichirin is also very popular as a winter barbecue. The Shichirin is made of ceramic with quartz, cordierite, and fired at high temperatures. The ceramic also makes the Shichirin very easy to clean thanks to its glazed finish. This table grill can only be used outdoors with briquettes, self-lighting briquettes, or charcoal. The Japanese use Binchotan charcoal, the black gold of Japan, which allows for extremely high temperatures to be reached. This charcoal burns longer and at a more intense temperature than regular charcoal. To get the Binchotan burning, it is best to first create a bed of softer charcoal with acacia charcoal, for example. Then place the Binchotan diagonally on the bed of hot charcoal. This way, Binchotan is easily lit. It is also possible to light Binchotan with a gas burner, but this takes about 15 minutes.
