Independent cooling – enjoy the freedom

Off the grid for days but still well prepared? The Petromax kx50 passive cooler allows you to be self-sufficient during your adventures for several days. The ultra-passive cooling system works exclusively with commercially available ice, ice packs, or dry ice. The double-walled, insulated kx50 cooler keeps ice frozen for up to 12 days, all without a compressor! An unbeatable advantage: the interior of the kx50 (50 l) is designed such that you can transport either 70 x 0.33 l cans or 20 x 1 l bottles standing upright. The Petromax cooler is also ideal for storing fresh fish from your catch or provisions brought along.

Large-scale cooling system

The Petromax cooler's insulating layer of at least 45 mm ensures maximum temperature resistance inside during your excursion. That's not all: the robust polyethylene body is so stable that you can easily use the cooler as a seat or a storage surface. You can therefore fish comfortably or enjoy the surrounding view. Thanks to its straight-edge construction, the kx50 can also be easily stowed in cargo areas or under a deck. Filling with ice and subsequent cleaning of the cooling compartment is facilitated by the integrated drain system. This allows you to drain melted ice at any time – especially during use – thereby extending the cooling time according to your needs.

Adventure-ready handling

The requirements for reliable equipment are particularly high for outdoor cooking and outdoor use. The extremely long temperature stability and other features make the Petromax cooler ready for adventure: thanks to the recesses in the lid, cross-lashing is possible. You can therefore secure your kx50 safely for transport on the deck of your boat or on a pickup truck. The ergonomic carrying handles on both sides can also be used as strap guides so that the cooler can be opened securely during transport. The non-slip rubber latches can be operated with one hand, providing a firm grip even with wet fingers. With the locking plates combined with a standard U-lock, you can protect your food from wild animals. The four rubber feet on the bottom of the cooler guarantee a stable position and also allow for airflow from below.

Proper use of the cooler

• Pre-cool the cooler a day before use in a cold place or with ice
• Only fill with well-chilled drinks and food
• Ideally use large blocks of ice
• Always place dry ice, ice packs, or crushed ice on top, as cold sinks downwards
• Open consciously and sparingly
• On the road, place the cooler in a shaded spot and avoid direct sunlight
• Transport and store in an upright position
